Resilience is the ability to adapt and grow through adversity. Studying or working in academic research can sometimes be hard and require trainees of all levels (postbac, graduate, postdoctoral) to build resilience skills. These skills allow trainees to dampen negative self-talk, advocate for themselves, learn to receive feedback, and maximize mentoring relationships.
The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, in partnership with the Markey Oncology Mentoring, Education, Networking and Training Umbrella (MOMENTUM), the Office of Biomedical Education, and the Stuckert Career Center are delighted to bring Becoming a Resilient Scientist conversations to trainees of all levels (undergraduate, graduate, postdoctoral) at the University of Kentucky.
Using Becoming a Resilient Scientist (BRS) materials developed by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Intramural Training & Education, our goal is to help trainees develop skills to become resilient scientists.
